We’ve survived the end of the world.
Well done us.
But what now? What do we do with our new-found vitality? For my last post of 2013, I’m going to share with you the 6 Wisdoms of Youth, as presented by Tim Drake at TedxBrighton 2012, and ask the question:
What will you do with this knowledge in 2013?
Enjoy.
2012′s been a hard year.
We’ve had recession, crisis after crisis, worries over the job market, floods. The Mayans didn’t get the end of the world prediction right, but it’s been a pretty heavy year in other ways.
And, if you’re like me, you’re rolling up to Christmas feeling battered and bruised , wondering what 2013 is going to look like.
So here’s some thinking. OK, it’s about Gen Y and how they (we) view the world. But it’s good stuff. No, scratch that.
It’s great stuff and raises questions about how you (we) can build your (our) 2013 on solid principles to really wring the most out of the year.
Without further ado, here’s (a paraphrased version of) Tim’s 6 Wisdoms Of Youth:
- Openness to change
- Being open to people
- Action-orientation
- Having fun
- Being positive & designing tomorrow
- Looking after yourself, then others
